If you prefer to stay within the Continuous Discharge Rating (CDR) of your cells, the maxiumum vaping Wattage per cell can be approximated by multiplying the CDR (in Amps) by 3
So for example a 20A CDR cell can be used for 60W in a single cell device or 120W if two are used in a dual cell mod.
This takes the cell Voltage as 3, which is low for a Li-ion, but also takes into account inefficiencies in the mod (i.e. regulation, boost converters and so on). Even so, I still imagine that it’s a slightly conservative rule of thumb which errs on the side of safety.
