Electronic cigarette use has been on the rise lately, and is seen among some people as a safer alternative to regular cigarettes. In this presentation, we discuss the components of electronic cigarettes, the difference between them and regular cigarettes, and the potential side effects of these devices.
About the presenter: Dr. Khalil Diab graduated from medical school at the American University of Beirut. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the United States, and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He worked at Indiana University until December 2018, and then joined the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine. He is Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at LAU. His main interests include COPD and lung cancer, both smoking-related diseases.
